Lucielle 03:52
Well my friend John's been dealing with depression Cause his wife Lucielle got busted for possession And her mounting legal fees, well they brought him to his knees And he's longing for his darling's sweet affection Lucielle, Lucielle, I must be going crazy For I drink myself to sleep inside the bar Business is going slow and I'm runnin' out of dough So I think I'm gonna have to sell your car Well Johnny always seemed to take a beating And that Luciellle's love, it always seemed so fleeting He'd try to crack a smile, but she'd break him all the while Cause she'd run around all weekend to go cheating Lucielle, Lucielle, you got me going crazy Cause I'm learning all about these other guys Coulda' handled my friend Steve, even sailors on shore leave But my brother's name, well it came as a surprise (Aw, say it ain't so) Well lately John has seemed to turn a corner And that empty laugh just sounds a little warmer I wonder what it's all about but I won't look it in the mouth But if anybody sees Lucielle, y'all better warn her Lucielle, Lucielle, you've been so fucking crazy And I've put up with your shit for far too long Bought your Corvette back with the sale of your last sack And I'm headed for Tukwilla, babe I'm gone Yes I'm headed for Tukwilla, babe I'm gone

Marshall, OH 03:16
Hot rain falling on a cold tin roof Your last bottle was 100 proof The weather-vane wobbled but it never moved Burned like fire but it went down smooth Heed my words, young man, I promise all your assets will not keep you warm But your vision gets much better once you've seen life through the eye of a storm Tall grass falling at the end of June Silver stripping right off the spoon The water's boiling but it freezes soon Piano's creaking and it's out of tune Make your voice a loud one, son, I know you have a story to be sung Never change your melody to fit the beat of someone else's drum Sunlight shining off of Queen Anne's lace Casting light on a headstone's face The tall man's steps are all around this place The quiet rooms were never empty space

It's Decoration Day And I've a mind to roll a stone on his grave But what would he say He'd say... "Keeping me down, boy, won't keep you away" It's Decoration Day And I knew the Hill Boys that put 'im away But my Daddy wasn't afraid Said "We'd fight till the last Lawson's last living day" Well I never knew how it all got started A problem with Holland before we were born And I don't know the name of the boy we tied down And beat till he just couldn't walk anymore But I know the caliber in Daddy's chest I know what Holland Hill drives The state let him go, so I guess it was best 'Cause nobody needs all us Lawsons alive My daddy said one of the boys had come by Lumber Man's favorite son Said, "Beat him real good but don't dare let him die And if you see Holland Hill run Well I said, "they ain't give us trouble before We ain't brought down on ourselves" But a chain on my back, my ear to the floor And I'll send all the Hill boys to hell I'll send all the Hill boys to hell It's Decoration Day And I got family in Mobile Bay And they ain't never seen my Daddy's grave But that don't bother me, it ain't marked anyway Cause I got dead brothers in Lauderdale south And I got dead brothers in east Tennessee My Daddy got shot right in front of his house He had no one to fall on but me It's Decoration Day And I've a mind to go spit on his grave If I'd been a Hill, I'd have put him away And I'd fight till the last Lawson's last living day I'd fight till the last Lawson's last living day I'd fight till the last Lawson's last living day

Hurricane 04:55
Was a long a long-forgotten winter when I met young Anna Lee That spring we were in love and I'd ask if she'd marry me And I didn't know the price I'd pay when she happily agreed Didn't know the storm ahead that would bring me to my knees She siphoned gas from my car just to get her to the bar Where she'd always drink for free She'd come home like a wreck and she'd stumbled out her dress Said she never cared for me She was a Hurricane That I tried to survive She was a wilting flower That I tried to keep alive Only knew I loved her so much, knew I couldn't leave And despite all of our problems, I knew she still cared for me And I didn't listen to anyone who advised me not to stay I let her love just blind my eyes as the sky was turning grey She could never keep a job, never hesitated to rob me Of every dollar, every dime One night in July she punched me in the eye And begged forgiveness as she cried She was a Hurricane And I knew I couldn't stay One night destruction came And I had to run away Well 5 years passed and my heart of glass was mended by some glue She moved up north to get a job, found a lover to pursue Though the storm I know has faded, even just a gentle breeze We might have been destroyed but it was all worth it to me She was a Hurricane And I had to set her free Now she's a glowing rose And I'm happy as can be She was just a Hurricane to me Only a Hurricane for me

Revelator 05:32
Darling remember when you come to me I'm a pretender; I'm not what I'm suppose to be But who could know if I'm a traitor? Time's the revelator, the revelator They caught the Katy and left me a mule to ride. The fortune lady came along, she walked beside But every word seemed to date her Time's the revelator, the revelator Up in the morning, up and on the ride Drive into Corning, and all the spindles whine And everyday is getting straighter Time's the revelator, the revelator Leaving the valley, fucking out of sight I'll go back to Cali where I can sleep out every night And watch the waves and move the fader Times' the revelator, the revelator Queen of fakes and imitators Time's the revelator
